With less than a week of the January Whole30 left, now is a great time to reflect over the last 25 days. Think about what you have learned – has it been easier or harder than you thought it would be, what improvements do you see/feel? By taking the time to reflect, you are allowing yourself to see some changes you were hoping for or maybe making the decision to extend your Whole30 to a Whole40 or 50 in order to help you reach your goals. My takeaways from this round:
- I now have a little more clarity about which foods upset my stomach (yes even the compliant ones)
- Peppers
- Tomato Sauce
- To large a quantity of sweet potatoes
- Eating red meat a few days in a row
- Eating the right portion sizes of whole food does allow me to feel fuller longer. The main take away, when I reach for a compliant snack in the afternoons or after dinner, it is out of habit not hunger.
- My skin is a whole lot clearer.
- Being that certain foods easily upset my stomach, I often felt behind on the “typical” Whole30 timeline.
When it comes times for the reintroduction phase, I plan to do a slow roll introduction based on cravings and social interactions. Based on my reintroduction phrases from previous Whole30 rounds, I am already aware of my bodies reactions to things like grains, dairy and legumes. All reasons which lead me to my paleo lifestyle. I am looking forward to practicing and developing my Food Freedom and bringing Siete chips and Mikey’s english muffins back into my life and remembering why the program is 30 days and not 365.
Stay strong and rock these last 5 days!
